Keldon K. Scott of Mallory, Lapka, Scott & Selin P.L.L.C., Lansing, Michigan, practices in the areas of domestic relations, appellate advocacy, domestic personal injury, and legal malpractice.
Mr. Scott is a past Chairperson of the Michigan State Bar Family Law Section and the Ingham County Bar Association Family law Section. He is also has been a member of the American Bar Association Family Law Section and its Family Law Torts Section. He has been very active in each of these sections, and has served on several committees. He has served the Supreme Court as a member of their Family Law Court committee. And, he has testified numerous times before the legislature on family law bills.
As an advocate, Mr. Scott has been primarily responsible for many published and unpublished Court of Appeals and Supreme Court opinions, which have impacted family law and civil litigation in family related personal injury cases and legal malpractice cases.
Mr. Scott is a former member of the board of directors of Pro Bono Legal Services and is a frequent lecturer and author for the Family Law Sections of the State Bar and the Ingham County Bar Association. He has been a speaker, moderator, and organizer for many Institute of Continuing Legal Education and Michigan Judge’s Institute family law courses.
He has authored numerous articles for the “Michigan Bar Journal” and the “Michigan Family Law Journal.” He is also an author of chapters for West ‘s Family Practitioner’s Series and ICLE’s Michigan Family Law. He has appeared on national television (“American Justice”) and several radio broadcasts.
Mr. Scott has two boys, who are both in college. He is a Green Bay Packers fan. He loves to travel, including regular trips to Las Vegas, Florida and Lake Tahoe. He golfs, bowls, boats, scuba dives, and he loves to sing. He has been an avid YMCA member since 1972, and has served on their local board of directors. His new endeavors include learning to play the guitar and is now seeking a private pilot certificate.
